"America and the Antelope Valley gave us the opportunity to succeed, and I was taught that with success comes the responsibility to give back. As a business owner, I want to ensure that the American Dream continues to be attainable for all families. For me, that’s what serving on the City Council is all about; ensuring that our community provides economic development and job opportunities for our residents."
Priorities for our Families
PUBLIC SAFETY
Following an armed robbery where he was held at gunpoint at his business, Raj Malhi became a dedicated volunteer with the Antelope Valley Boosters to support law enforcement and first responders.
As our Councilman, he continues to partner with local law enforcement to ensure they have the resources they need to keep our families safe, and protect themselves while risking their lives for our community. Raj understands that we cannot attract jobs to our community, or create great schools for our children if our streets are not safe for law-abiding citizens.

That's why he worked to create the new Lancaster Police Department, working side by side with our incredible Sheriff's deputies which has put more cops on the street and resulted in fewer crimes.
JOB CREATION
A business owner his entire adult life, Raj Malhi is fighting to ensure the entrepreneurial American Dream is attainable for Antelope Valley residents in the City of Lancaster.

While a Lancaster City Planning Commissioner, Raj made it his primary objective to foster a pro-business, pro-job climate in Lancaster. This is a committment he continues to hold as our Councilman, and is why Lancaster continues to be one of the most business friendly cities in Los Angeles County, and all of Southern California.

During the pandemic related business shutdowns, Raj worked with local small businesses and employees to create incentive programs that helped dozens of small businesses stay afloat and keep their workers employed.
HEALTHCARE
Raj is a longtime partner with the medical community and advocate for better health care for our families. He has taken a leading role in developing the Medical Main Street infrastructure expansion that will attract more nurses and physicians to our city. This not only creates better access to health care, but drives down insurance costs and improves our quality of life.

Over the past two years, he and his colleagues at City Hall partnered with faith-based organizations and healthcare providers to increase access to emergency health services during the pandemic.
VETERANS
Our nation exists as a beacon of hope and opportunity around the globe because of the sacrifices made by the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.
Raj Malhi knows we owe our veterans the same commitment they've made to us. He's working with local, state and federal leaders to improve and increase veterans services locally. Eliminating veteran homelessness and providing high quality medical care must be a top priority and Raj is dedicated to meeting their needs.
HOMELESSNESS
Our homeless population has exploded in recent years as Los Angeles County has worked to move those in need to the Antelope Valley without providing the necessary resources to help them get back on their feet or obtain the medical care they may need. At the same time, those that create a danger to the public must be kept away from our families to keep our streets safe.
Raj is supporting our churches and faith-based organizations provide the compassionate care our vulnerable residents need, while also standing firm against efforts from the Los Angeles basin to ship their people and responsibilities to the high desert. We will take care of our residents, but we cannot be expected to take care of all of Los Angeles County.
